If Enterprise Mode IE (EmIE) is enabled, you should see a blue box with buildings next to the address bar. On some hardware, you may see a blue box with white EmIE text.
The behavior depends on your display settings. The “EmIE” text is a fallback if there isn’t an acceptable icon resource for your display settings. For example, if my DPI setting is 150% or lower,
I will get the building icon.
If I set my DPI setting to 175%,
I get the “EmIE” text.
The icon that is displayed has no affect on the functionality of Enterprise Mode. This is just how Internet Explorer handles DPI differences to prevent the icon from looking stretched.
